GXED owns the qualification certificates for the design of thermal power plants with 300MW and 600MW unit, its 43 thermal power plants distribute in Guangxi, Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces, realizing good benefits in local social and economical development.
Heshan power plant extension project. The 1# unit was put into operation in March 1971 and the 8# unit in October 1986. The design and research work for this project won the Second and the Third Prizes for Excellent Project Design, a Second Prize for Computer Technology Development, a Third Prize for Science & Technology Progress in Guangxi and a medal issued by Guangxi Science Conference. The small units in this power plant has been shut down and abandoned in response to relative state industrial policies.
Guangzhou power plant with an installed capacity of 4×50+25MW. The 1# unit was put into operation in May 1989 and the 5# unit in June 1997. The design of this project won the Second and the Third Prizes respectively from Guangxi authority.
Laibin power plant with a total installed capacity of 970MW is the first large-sized thermal power plant of 1000MW grade.
Liuzhou power plant with an installed capacity of 400（2×200）MW. The 1# unit was put into operation in December 1994 and the 2# unit in November 1995. The design of units, outer hydraulic ash handling system and drainage pipeline won the First, Second and the Third Prizes respectively from Guangxi authority.
