In 2003, a post-doctorial program is established GXED, following which is a geo-technical Research Center and a Digital & Visual Research Center, aiming at the research in the inter-crossing frontier fields which combines IT, digital technology, visual technology, emulation technology, automation control technology, modern measuring and testing technology, environmental geo-technical technology, as well as new energies, new materials and modern water and electric power technology. Achienements from these centers are some internationally advanced core technologies for which GXED holds the full intellectual property.

The Management & Distributin System for Web GIS electric power design space data based on B/S structure (maps of planning, substation, electric power pipelines and geological survey,etc.), which is put forward and owned by the Digital & Visual Study Center of GXED in property right, takes a leading position in the world.
The CAD electronic filing management system developed by the Computer Center of GXED, and for which GXED owns the full right of intellectual property, realizes the automatic filing of electronic documents, 100% of filing rate and the control of final effective version of the documents. It takes a leading position in China.
The Archives & Libraries Management System developed by the Computer Center of GXED, and for which GXED owns the full right of intellectural property, enables the staff to search and borrow documents and books through the computer. This system is awarded the Second Prize for Scientific & Technological Progress by Guangxi Power Grid Company.
